The New Inquisition

The Vatican worked for centuries to keep scientific reasoning out of the hands and minds of the masses, while they studied and wrote scientific papers in secret.

Then in response to the growing power of the Church, The Royal Society was formed to support scientists who were persecuted for so-called heresy. This temporarily offered scientists protections from persecution by granting them the freedom to think. hypothesize, experiment, and publish under the authority of the crown.

But after a short while, the
Royal Society became the New Vatican, ostracizing, defaming, and working to discredit anyone who produced scientific works that disagreed with their "settled science". This is the reason why almost no one, to this day, has ever heard of Léon Foucault, who was considered an outsider among the members of the Royal Society, but was the first to experimentally prove the rotation of the Earth.

For this he received little recognition and a large amount of scorn and criticism, despite is many other scientific achievements.

This problem persists today, where scientific elites form societies and organizations that are self-serving, attempting to advance broken hypotheses while slandering and discrediting legitimate scientific study and discourse that is:

1. Not profitable to them or their sponsors.
2. Goes against their established agenda or that of their donors.
3. Makes them look wrong, especially if the challenges come from people with lesser credentials.
4. Challenges the idea that scientific fact is determined by institutions rather than a process (the scientific method).
