I found this post linked on the #welcome page of a Discord server I use. Most Discord Servers have #post-promotion, but even if they don't, posting links in #welcome is unwelcome, violates the rules set forth by those communities, and invites flags (like this one!)

Please be respectful of the communities with which you engage. Just because you can drop a link doesn't mean you should.
