Everyone has an agenda, and everyone is at least a little bit pretentious. I personally have a huge ego and have to actively work to keep it in check. I'll get you a share because you lift people up with your words and I highly encourage that kind of thing.

The funny thing about steemit, and an unfortunate truth about it, is that even if someone was outright literally scamming saying they're helping charity, the likelihood of the money going to help with necessities and basic needs for a person who really needs it is still probably a bit higher than with many organizations where the executive levels are making hundreds of times what an average worker makes.
