Charitable deeds, let's crowd-fund for kids in Bangladesh, fruits and snacks every week, nr. 48

in #charity6 years ago

With summer at full swing, many of us would love a rainy day that refreshes the earth. I, myself got such a wonderful day but in Sylhet, Bangladesh, there might have been a little too much of that wet weather. All liquid SBD will still go to the @SchoolForSDG4 project but the STEEM power will stay in my (@lindahas) account.

Here is a recent post from @SchoolForSDG4

This week has brought quite a massive flood to the area where the school is. But, it does not mean that school is out. The kids come to study with vigor, and, quite frankly, judging from the photo above, they enjoy the wet weather. I, too, as a child loved to jump in the puddles and have fun in the water. Knowing me, I probably would have swum in that flooded area as a child even though it does not look very clean. I was a wild kid and no dirt puddle could stop me! I loved water too much as I grew up next to the sea and, because it was too cold to swim in most of the time, I loved finding alternatives in our near river, countryside pond or an inflatable pool.

However, we all know that flood is not good for buildings and stored goods so I hope the water soaks in the ground or leaves soon, so no human in the area has to suffer any loss of goods that would result in skipping meals or struggling to survive in any other way.

This weeks fruit for the fruit program was red grapes. These are some of my favorites. They do not grow well in Latvia but were always an affordable tropical fruit. Maybe because it is not considered tropical at all. We do have our own of these but different. Well, I had these(inmported ones) often at home when I was little and I loved them. That sweet taste! It got even better when we started importing seedless grapes. Yumm!

I used to do this thing. I would eat the skin of the grape first and then devour the rest of the berry(is it considered berry?). That way the grape would be even sweeter than with the skin and isn't that what kids really love, some sugar in their system?

We have some good news this week as well. Mohima has returned to study @SchoolForSDG4. She was a student at the charity school at the beginning of this year but she had to leave to live in a village. Now she has returned to the city with her family and will be coming to school regularly. And, in the end, she only missed a couple of months of school. I am sure she is more eager to learn than ever and will catch up in no time!

On the other hand, we have to say goodbye to one of the Al-Amins' in the class. He will be leaving to live in a village, away from the city, and won't attend school anymore. He has already been skipping it as he feels discouraged. He is a very bright boy and Mohammed (@Azizbd) has discussed his education with his mom. I hope fortune smiles at him and he never gives up on pushing harder. After all, look at where courage got Mohammed!

Here is a post about Al-Amin

Overall, school life is back in full swing. There are ups and downs ads each of the little students have a different story. I hope they all make it, though. And by making it I mean, I hope they fulfill their dreams and are proud of themselves. After all, that is the most important thing in the world; to live your life to the fullest. To live your best life!
