Charitable deeds, let's crowd-fund for kids in Bangladesh, fruits and snacks every week, nr. 65

All liquid SBD from this post will still go to the @SchoolForSDG4 project but the STEEM power will stay in my (@lindahas) account.

Halloween has passed and I didn't even dress up! No parties, no kids knocking on my door, no fun stories to tell. But I did hear a story from someone else. This person was totally unprepared for the celebration and had no sweets at home. So when kids showed up at his door, the only thing he had to offer was almonds soaked in water (so the peel comes off easily). There were three girls at his door and two of them looked like they would cry because of the Almonds. I know, 1st world problems... One was really excited though as almonds are supposedly her favorite. I am not sure, though, if this bit of the story was not invented by my friend to make him feel better.

That is a pretty mundane story so far but what I found hilarious is what happened after around an hour or so. The girls were staying outside my friend's apartment, next to the pool. It was a small bungalow complex so you could hear enough. Supposedly other kids wanted to knock on my friend's infamous door but the girls yelled for them not to as he only had almonds. ALMONDS! I guess now I know what is a great kid repellant!

Anyway. Sometimes we forget that the whole world is not raised equally. What seems normal for me here is abnormal somewhere else. Some families, unfortunately, struggle to make ends meet. There is nothing that we should feel guilty about but there are things we can do to help. I am all for small steps. Those are the ones that sneak into our daily routines while big changes often lead to more problems. Like winning the lottery. How often are there stories about people wasting the money they win because they have no idea how to handle it?

Sometimes we do not even know or comprehend. The circumstances and what a seemingly small thing from our side actually means to someone else. I know that even I, someone who writes for this amazing charity every week, without seeing it in real life, can not 100% understand the struggles of those who are fighting to survive every day. The impact that those couple of dollars make. My head still can't wrap around the thought that 20 dollars is someones monthly wage.

Now the actual events of this week. For the fruit snack program, the little ones had grapes. I am always questioning if they are seedless or not because my spoiled body part cannot handle seeds. I chew and swallow them even though they are not good for you. I am loving the color of these fruits. In my experience, the darker the grape the sweeter it tastes. Mmm, I am drooling!

The kids are starting their exam preparations so I think that the grapes provided them the sweet escape they needed. You know how the exam month is always more stressful than the regular school time? Yeah, I think that is why those fruits are life-savers!

Mohammed (@Azizbd) also told me a story about him visiting a family this week. Jannatul and her mother Shefali came to live in the city for a bit. The eldest daughter in the family needs a dental operation so they are moving a lot to have lower costs. They will be going to the capital city. Because of that, Jannatul might not able to sit through the annual exam in her school at the village they live in.

I hope this is not going to be the case but you can never be sure. Education is what will help the kids get out of the streets and bad living conditions. Bangladesh is the country that still has so much to learn. There are so many businesses that they still have not discovered and will bring in money. There are so many things that will be innovative to Bengali people and I hope our kids will be part of founding these ventures.

All the pictures are recent and provided by @azizbd. Any questions about the project can be resolved with him. He will even get up at 4 AM just to talk to somebody about ideas. Here is a link to his steemit chat: https://steemit.chat/direct/azizbd

If you would like to contribute by making a post, you can contact Mohammed (@azizbd) and he will provide pictures for you. Anyone spreading the word is welcome. The income from the post can be sent to @schoolforsdg4. If you think you deserve Steem for your hard work making a post, keep a bit from the payout. Even a small donation from your posts means a lot to those kids.

If you have any Steem to spare, donations are welcome. @SchoolForSDG4 is where you want to send them.

If you can't spare any Steem, because I know everybody has their lives to live and expenses needed to be covered, a simple up vote is very much appreciated, a resteem is encouraged. :)

Not all funds from this post will go into the school account. The SP will stay on my account so if you want to leave the maximum impact possible, head over to @SchoolForSDG4.

Wishing you an amazing day! Today, tomorrow, and forever.
