RE: A letter from YAH founder @SirCork: YouAreHOPE Foundation's charitable practices and the "business" of "charity". Accountable & Transparent. Ethical & Principled.

I've often pondered how acceptable people feel it is for charities to cover their costs and salaries from the income. Some think they shouldn't, but I feel that here your quote of "Be Strong To Be Useful" comes into play. How can you help if you don't look after yourself first? Someone who is so busy feeding everyone else that they don't have the opportunity to feed themselves, should also be able to partake of the donated food, or they won't be around to help for long. Of course there is always potential for abuse, so the benchmarks are a good thing to have and aim for.

I just never want to be accused of bad practices, when all we are doing is trying to use our hearts and wallets together to do good for others who need it badly. Naturally all things come with a cost, but my goal is to make sure we are never ever guilty of greed.
