"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."

Proverbs 22:6

How would you define success as a parent and are you being successful?

If not, what would improve your success?

If you're not yet a parent, what could you be doing now to prepare for success?

It's a principle not a guarantee.

The best thing you can do as a parent is be a godly person who loves God, loves his family, and loves people. Children learn much more from watching you than listening to you. Whatever you do will be their definition of normal.

Beyond that, there's no substitution for spending time with them. It's not good to have a career that requires you to work 50 or 60 hour weeks forever. Not only is the time away from your family bad, it leaves you with nothing left to give them at the end of the day.

FYI I'm 58, been a Christian since I was 21, and my child is 28 now with a family of his own.
