CHINESE NEW YEAR EXPERIENCE

Happy Chinese New Year! The experience was nice. We get to go to relatives' houses to visit. We have to bring them gifts like CNY cookies, crackers or oranges. We always wear red for this celebration. Red is the colour of luck and prosperity.

They will also return our gifts, usually different from what we gifted them. On the first day of CNY, we always go visit the eldest relatives' family. The married couples will give me angpao (red packets containing money). They believe that giving may bring them good luck and they will get returns in other ways.

Lion Dance, Dragon Dance and Unicorn Dance will be all over the city. Shopping malls have Lion Dance performances, some people's houses also have performances - mostly the rich ones will ask for Lion Dance. Businesses and companies usually ask for the most expensive dance - that is the Dragon Dance. Some very rich people will ask for the whole troop - all Lions, Dragons and Unicorns.

I love the snacks such as prawn crackers, fish crackers and chips. I enjoyed Anglia Shandy and drinks non stop. A lot Mandarin oranges are served but I seldom eat those. At home, I get to play computer games, mobile games and mom didn't comment anything about it. Nice!

We had a whole week of holiday and this photo was taken on the 2nd day of CNY. We went to Suria Sabah Shopping Mall and my mom loved the decoration so much. We went for dinner and watched a movie, ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL. It was incredible, inspiring and motivating! No spoilers given but you must watch.
