Well as it’s Easter weekend, I decided to allow myself a little treat. Chocolate of course!

Nestle - Walnut Whips

It’s been a fair few days since I last had any chocolate, so I knew it was only right that I have a little bit over the Easter weekend. I haven’t had walnut whips in months! I remember as a child, my dad always had them. I definitely got the taste for them from him! There were 6 of these beauties in a box, all individually wrapped. I unwrapped one whip. It stood so proud with its walnut sat on top of the tower. There is only one way to eat a walnut whip and that is to bite off the top of the cone with the walnut, lick out the centre, nibble the chocolate edge and devour the base in one! It was quite easy to bite off the top of the cone with the walnut as the chocolate wasn’t too thick. I love the flavour of chocolate and nut! The fondant was so white and fluffy. There were so many bubbles in it that gave it a moussy texture. The fondant cream tastes of vanilla. It’s actually quite sticky as well. I get it stuck to my top lip. It was nice to sit there and lick it all off. The chocolate is your basic commercialised chocolate. It doesn’t taste fake, but you can tell it’s nothing fancy like Belgian or Swiss. This doesn’t bother me though as it has a nice milk chocolatey taste. Eventually I get to the base. The case is very thick. I have to be careful as I bite into this because I do not want to break one of the brackets on my teeth! Definitely a good munch for those of you who aren’t wearing braces!

I love these. I ate 3 of them. They definitely bring back some nostalgia. I’ve had other walnut whips before and these are by far the best. Just the way each one looks so perfect and not a cracked or broken nut in sight. I love the swirls of the chocolate round the outside too. The taste is good, the look is good. Definitely a pleasure to eat!… Now where’s the other 3…?
