NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS

1 Peter 1:18-25

I. PRODUCE A SAVIOUR v.20

A. According to this verse, Jesus was "foreordained", before the world was ever created to become the sacrifice for our sin. Revelation 13:8
B. He accomplished many things during His walk on earth:

• God became flesh John 1:1, 14/Philippians 2:5-8
• Jesus fulfilled many Old Testament Prophecies
  . Virgin birth Isaiah 7:14
  . Born in Betlehem Micah 5:2
  . Seed of David Jeremiah 23:5

II. CAN PURCHASE THE SINNER v.18-19
A. v18 declare to us to have been "Redeemed" this word means "to liberate by the payment of a ransom"
B. Sinners needs redemption (why?)

• They are slaves to sin Romans 3:23/ 3:10/ Ephesians 2:1-3/ John 8:44
• They are lost and separated from God Isaiah 59:2
• They are hell bound and hopeless apart from Jesus Psalm 9:17
  C. Christ's blood offers the redemption sinners need
• The blood frees us from sins power Romans 6:14
• The blood brings us into fellowship with the Father Revelation 5:9
  -The blood gives peace and assurance ** Romans 5:1
• It changes our eternal destiny Romans 5:9

III. CAN PURIFY FROM SIN v.22

A. v.22 declares that obedient to the truth of God's word purifies the soul from sin.
B. This has always been God's plan

• Adam and eve Genesis 3:21
• Cain and Abel **Genesis 4:2-4
• Noah after the flood Genesis 8:20-21
  -When God gave worship guidelines to the Jews, he demanded blood Leviticus 4:4-5/ 17:11

Paul's warning: Shall we continue from sin?

IV. CAN PRESERVE THE SAINT v.23

A. What the blood does in us will always forever work!
B. It guarantees us eternal security John 10:28-29/ Ephesians 4:30
C. The blood gives security. (The blood promises an absolute security in Jesus Christ.)

V. CAN PROMISE SALVATION v.24-25

A. We are one of the product of HIs promises. *(Only the blood of Jesus offers hope Acts 16:31
B. The blood has never and will never lose its saving power Hebrew 7:25
C. It's power is still available today and to all will come Revelation 22:17/ Romans 10:13

CONCLUSION What can wash away your sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus! What can make you whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus! Are your sins under the blood of Jesus today? Amen... Praise the Lord for the Blood of Jesus.
