The Catholic Church is Libertarian ✝️🗽- A Reflection in the "Rerum Novarum"

I don't see any ideological conflict in my being libertarian and Christian. I believe that both paths lead to freedom. Recalling that the commitment of any individual to a religion is voluntary and not an obligation as most atheists say. This is subject to another post.

Let's go to today's theme.

I have been researching these days about what the ideal model of government the Catholic Church truly supports, approves, and desires for our society.

This has always been something that interested me, since many of the modern clergy strongly believe that the political model of the Catholic Church is socialism. And, in fact it is not. The Catholic Church has in its social doctrine a rigid, militant and intransigent defense of private property and is totally against socialism.

To understand this, I read the encyclical of Pope Leo XIII, dated May 15, 1891, called: Rerum Novarum. This encyclical I am still reading and studying the same, because, the arguments are very detailed and it takes patience and calm to accompany.

I'll post a more detailed post on her soon. But what I understood in this first reading of this encyclical, which explains in detail what the Church's social doctrine was, were these points that I would like to quote below:

1. Condemnation of socialism and communism.

2. Defense of Private Property

3. Family law above society (state)

4. Need of inequality

These points cited by Pope Leo in the "Rerum Novarum" certainly break the whole modern paradigm disseminated in the Catholic Church today in its most progressive, left-political sectors that preach that the Church must be united in the struggles for land, in "class wars " and in search of social equality.

The Catholic church in the encyclical "Rerum Novarum" only affirms and confirms all that is also in the libertarian ethic that is a defense of the natural right of property.
