Psalms 2: 4-6

  • Look below to The Lord's laugh from heaven.
He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The LORD shall hold them in derision.
Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
"Yet I have set My King
On My holy hill of Zion."
  • He who sits in the heavens shall laugh.

God laughs when he looks at man and the way he plots against God. God is not confused, or afraid or even depressed regarding the opposition of man. He laughs at it.

Remember God sits in the heavens so He laughs at this. He is The Great King on the glorious throne. He isn't pacing back and forth in heaven in the throne room wondering what He should do next. God sits in perfect assurance and peace.

God doesn't occupy an earthly throne. He occupies the throne of heaven which rules over all creation with authority. Ask yourself this, what does heaven ever have to fear from earth?

Make no mistake God doesn't tremble one bit. He doesn't hide while counting the numbers of the enemy, or wondering if He has enough forces to counter them. Dear reader He doesn't even rise from the position where He is sitting. God simply "laughs" at these foolish men.

  • The LORD shall hold them in derision.

Through time and many centuries many men and women have opposed God's Kingdom and even God Himself through our Lord Jesus Christ. Make no mistake, each of these opponents shall be crushed and frustrated. The glory and the fame of Jesus Christ is spread all over the earth. No man can come against it.

  • He shall speak to them in His wrath.

When God laughs in heaven He doesn't remain inactive. God first speaks to defiant men before He acts against them. He doesn't just simply laugh at them. The great mercy of God is shown here. To simply act against defiant men is God's right and He has every reason to do so, however *mercy and love compel God to first speak a word of warning before He acts.

  • I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.

God has established a King and He wants defiant man to know that. Rulers and Kings are the defiant men whom are closest in view in The Psalms, and God wants them to know and be aware of the fact that there is a King greater than them and greater than they are. God's King established in Jerusalem (Zion).
