For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:10..

Salvation is defined as the act of saving someone from sin or evil or the state of being saved from sin or evil. It is also defined as something that saves someone or something from danger or a difficult situation. The person who saved us from our sins is Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Even though Jesus Christ died for all mankind, it is not everyone who has accepted Him for this work He has done. Hence salvation can only be effectual personally by first of all believing in your heart that Jesus Christ truly died for your sins and that God raised Him from the dead. Secondly, you must confess Him with your mouth as Lord over your life. If you take these two very important steps of faith, then you will be saved.

It does not end here however; you must continually work out your salvation by being a follower and imitator of God (Ephesians 5:1). As you follow God in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ, He will bless you with good health, prosperity, wealth, etc., which are all part of salvation. Praise the Lord! Share your thoughts below!

Salvation is something that happens instantly. When we repent of our sins and accept what Jesus did on the cross to pay for those sins we're saved at that point. We're then sealed by the Holy Spirit for the day of redemption.

Paul said that repentance needed to be accompanied by deeds.

(Acts 26:20 NIV) First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and to the Gentiles also, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds.

We're saved by faith alone but not by faith that is alone.

You can't "work out" your salvation because it's by grace that we're saved and not by works. One Bible commentary says this about that verse:

In this article I have argued that Phil 2:12 is not dealing with eternal salvation at all. Rather, it is dealing either with temporal salvation from the calamities which come upon the disobedient or with temporal salvation through the trials which faithful believers face.
