Why You Need the Prayer Training

전쟁터에 나가는 병사를 훈련시키지 않는 군대는 없죠.

No militia would not train its soldiers and let them do whatever they want.

총을 쏘는 법을 비롯해서 각종 화기를 다루는 법, 갖가지 형태의 전술훈련을 하지 않고서는 용맹스런 군인을 육성시킬 수 없기 때문입니다.

A great soldier must know how to wield his/her weapons and know how to fight against the enemy, even without weapons.

그래서 어느 나라 군대이든지, 그들의 군인들을 훈련시키는 데 엄청난 세금을 쏟아 붓고 첨단무기를 수입하고 제작하는 데 천문학적인 돈을 들입니다.

So every nation spends a large sum of money to train soldiers and create/buy weapons with the latest technology.

탁월한 전투력을 지닌 군대가 없는 나라는 풍전등화와 같이 위태롭기 때문이에요.

The reason is simple; soldiers who cannot fight well are in peril.

우리의 씨름은 혈과 육을 상대하는 것이 아니요 통치자들과 권세들과 이 어둠의 세상 주관자들과 하늘에 있는 악의 영들을 상대함이라(엡6:12)

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6: 12)

영적 전쟁이라는 말을 들어보셨나요?

Have you heard of “spiritual warfare”?

영적 전쟁이란 육체의 눈으로 보이는 세상에서의 싸움이 아니라, 하나님의 군대와 악한 영들이 사람의 영혼을 사이에 두고 싸우는 전쟁을 말합니다.

It is the battle going on in the spiritual realm, God vs. Satan, which the spoil is human souls. The fight is not physical, so it cannot be seen.

그래서 성경은 우리가 싸우는 대상이, 사람이 아니라 하늘에 있는 악한 영이자 세상을 지배하는 사탄의 무리라고 말하고 있습니다.

The Bible says our enemies are not people around us but the demons who rule the air.

그래서 여러분은 악한 영과 피터지게 싸우고 계십니까?

Do you fight with demons every day?

솔직히 말해서, 우리네 교회에서는 악한 영에 대한 이야기조차 별로 들어보지 못하고 있습니다.

Honestly speaking, the church today doesn’t really talk about demons.

그래서 귀신이야기만 하면 불편해하고 두려움과 불안에 떨지요.

People feel uncomfortable when the subject comes up.

이러한 교회는 악한 영과 싸울 능력도 싸울 무기도 없기 때문입니다. 한마디로 악한 영들의 먹잇감으로 잡혀있는 포로인 셈이에요.

And this is what we face today--the church without power or weapons to fight off demons.

그러나 이런 저의 주장을 들으면 분노를 폭발하며 도끼를 들고 쫓아오려고 할 겁니다.

I’m sure some people will come after me in anger for saying such a thing.

그렇다면 악한 영들과 싸우는 무기는 무엇일까요? 악한 영들의 실체는 타락한 천사들입니다.

So… what IS the weapon to fight against demons? Demons are fallen angels.

그러므로 그들은 천사와 동급의 영적 능력이 있습니다. 말하자면 사람들과 싸우는 무기인 총이나 미사일이 아니라는 것이죠.

So they have similar power as the angels; their weapons do not require the physicality.

그렇다면 유한한 육체를 가진 사람들이 천사와 싸워 이길 수 있는 힘이 있나요?

Then, can a person have power and strength to win over an angel?

아무도 그럴 사람이 없죠. 그러므로 악한 영과 싸워 이기는 힘은 성령께서 공급해주셔야 합니다.

Nope. no one can. Holy Spirit has to give us the power to fight against demons.

그렇다면 여러분에게 성령의 능력이 있습니까?

Do you have spiritual power?

만약 있다면 귀신의 정체나 잠복, 공격을 알아채고 이들과 싸워 쫓아내면서, 이들이 병들게 하는 정신과 육체의 고질병을 고치고, 파괴해 놓은 가정을 회복시키고, 고통스럽고 불행한 삶의 수렁에서 빠져나와 평안하고 행복한 삶을 누리고 있어야 할 겁니다.

If you do, you should detect demons and their attacks, heal illnesses demons have caused, restore the families destroyed, and enjoy peace and joy God gives you.

그러나 아직도 귀신의 정체나 공격에 대해 무지하다면, 이들의 공격에 속수무책으로 당하고 있다고 보아야합니다.

But if you are not aware of what demons do, you might suffer from them without even knowing.

그러나 대다수의 크리스천들은 필자의 주장을 받아들이고 싶지 않을 거예요.

But I’m sure many Christians won’t want to admit and accept my claim.

그동안 교회에서 들어온 잘못된 가르침이 머리에 박혀있기 때문이죠.

And I know why, too--they are just not used to this kind of claims and views because the church never mentions it.

그렇다면 자신의 삶과 영혼의 상태를 찬찬히 살펴보시기 바랍니다.

So take a look at where your life (physical as well as spiritual) stands right now.

영혼이 건조하고 냉랭하며, 무능하고 무기력한 믿음으로 고단하고 팍팍한 삶을 살고 있지 않습니까?

Do you live in a dry empty state, with powerless faith?

삶의 문제를 해결할 수 있는 기도의 능력도 없고, 가족 중에 정신질환이나 고질병을 치유할 수 없는 능력이 없다면 귀신들의 공격에 당하고 있다는 명백한 증거입니다.

If you don’t have the power to resolve your issues or the power to heal your loved ones, that is the proof demons are walking all over you.

그러나 대부분의 크리스천들은 저의 주장을 기이하게 여기고 믿고 싶어 하지 않습니다.

Most Christians think of my claim as strange and invalid.

그러나 제 주장은 성경에 기록한 예수님의 말씀과 전혀 다르지 않아요.

But my claim is no different from what Jesus says in the Bible.

성령이 통치하시고 다스리시는 하나님의 나라인 천국이 우리 안에 이루어진다고 하셨으며, 하나님의 나라는 말이 아니라 능력에 있다고 하지 않았습니까?

Jesus said heaven will come to us when Holy Spirit takes over our heart; he said God’s kingdom is in its power, not in words.

그래서 겨자씨만한 자그마한 믿음만 있어도 기적을 불러일으키는 기도의 능력을 보여줄 것이라고 말씀하셨죠.

That’s why he also said we can move mountains if we have the smallest faith, as small as a mustard seed.

그래서 여러분 안에 천국이 이루어진 증거가 나타나며, 여러분의 기도는 신속한 응답을 보장하고 있나요?

Do you have the signs of the Spirit showing in your life? Do your prayers get answered right away?

아니라면 왜 그럴까요?

If not, do you know why?

여러분 안에는 하나님의 나라가 임하여서 악한 영과 싸워 승리할 수 있는 기도의 훈련이 되어 있지 않았기 때문입니다.

It’s simple. The Kingdom of God doesn’t exist in you; you are not a seasoned veteran that can fight off demons.

그러나 아쉽게도 우리네 교회는 기도훈련에 대해 무지하며, 기도훈련을 할 필요조차 느끼지 못하고 있어요.

But unfortunately, the church today is ignorant of this prayer. Of course, it doesn’t even see the need.

겨우 한다는 게, 교회에 모여 자신들의 탐욕적인 기도목록을 외치는 시간을 갖고 있을 뿐이죠.

The way they pray is to gather at the church building and list what they want in this world.

아무런 응답이 내려오지 않는 기도회에 사람들이 오지 않는 이유입니다.

No wonder the number of attendees is steadily decreasing.

그렇다면 왜 기도훈련이 필요하냐고요?

Then back to the beginning: Why do you need to train to pray?

제가 말하는 기도훈련은 기존 교회에서 권면하는 대로, 새벽기도회나 작정기도회에 성실하게 나오는 방식이 아니라 성령이 내주하는 기도훈련입니다.

The prayer I refer to is not like what the church today urges; it is praying to ask Holy Spirit’s indwelling.

성령이 내주하는 성경의 기도방식을 훈련시키는 것이죠.

I train people to pray so that the Holy Spirit will come to them.

왜 훈련해야 하냐고요? 이 기도는 악한 영들의 방해가 극심하기 때문입니다.

Why is “training” necessary? Demons will distract you beyond your imagination once you start properly praying.

또한 성경의 방식은 하루 종일 쉬지 않고 기도하는 것이며, 이는 일상의 삶에서 기도하는 습관을 들여서 몸이 자동적으로 반응하는 수준으로 해야 하기 때문이에요.

And the biblical way to pray is to do it constantly; that means you must pray until you can do that in your sleep.

그러나 하루 종일 쉬지 않고 기도하라는 성경의 명령을 들은 척도 하지 않는 이들이, 어떻게 이런 기도를 하겠습니까?

How can you pray like this, if you don’t listen to what the Bible tells you?

그래서 저는 하나님의 도움이 절실하게 필요한 사람들의 요청만을 받아들여 기도훈련을 시키는 겁니다.

So I only accept and train trainees who really need my help.

그냥 호기심에서 시작하거나 영적 능력이나 은사, 기술을 터득해서 자신의 의를 드러내고 싶은 사람들은 이 기도를 지속할 수 없기 때문이죠.

It’s hard for people to keep on going if they joined out of curiosity or to edify themselves.

말하자면 이 기도는 자신을 죽이고 자아를 십자가에 못 박아야 가능하기 때문에, 훈련이 되지 않는다면 하루 종일 하나님을 부르는 기도의 습관을 들일 수 없습니다.

This prayer is only possible when you put yourself on the cross; you can’t do that unless you train to constantly call God.

그러나 어떤 이들은 영성학교에서 기도하는 모습을 보고 기이하게 생각하거나 경악해 마지 않아요.

But some people are shocked by the way we pray at CSA.

그동안 교회에서 이렇게 기도하는 모습을 보지 못했기 때문이에요.

They think it’s strange because they’ve never seen anything like this.

그러나 제가 가르치는 기도훈련은 이미 성경에 수도 없이 명령한 내용을, 필자가 15년 동안 기도함으로서 성령이 내주하고 드러나는 증거가 나타났으며, 성령의 명령으로 보내준 수많은 양들을 훈련시키고 있으며, 영성학교를 시작한지 2년의 기간이 넘어서자 서서히 필자와 비슷한 영적 능력을 보여주는 조짐이 나타나는 제자들이 나타나기 시작했습니다.

It’s been 15 years since I started training, and I had so many signs of the Spirit shown to me; now, I’m teaching others how to pray. And my pupils started to show the signs of the Spirit as well.

물론 문제의 해결이나 정신질환과 고질병의 치유, 가정의 회복이나 성품이나 인생관의 변화 등의 은혜나 기도응답은 기도훈련의 과정에서 수도 없이 나타나지만, 궁극적인 훈련의 목적이 아니기 때문에 그저 참고하는 정도에 불과하죠.

Of course, many other issues were resolved and their lives changed, but these are not the ultimate objective--they are just part of the process.

이런 문제나 질병은 앞으로 언제든지 나타날 수 있기 때문에, 성령과 깊고 친밀하게 기도하는 습관을 붙여서 기도의 능력이 나타나지 않는다면 어제 내린 눈일 뿐입니다.

These problems can occur again anytime; your ability and power is last year’s harvest if you don’t keep praying.

결론적으로 성령이 내주하는 기도훈련은 기도를 집요하게 방해하는 악한 영과 싸워 이겨야하고, 자아에 들러붙어 있는 죄성을 철저하게 뜯어내야하고, 상상할 수 없는 방법으로 속이는 미혹의 영의 속임수를 간파하고 쫓아내야 하기 때문에, 먼저 기도의 훈련을 거쳐 습관이 되었으며 성령의 능력과 증거가 나타나는 베테랑 교관들의 지도와 더불어, 틈만 나면 결심을 굳게 하는 동기부여를 부여하는 공동체에 소속되어서 훈련받아야 열매를 맺을 수 있습니다.

In conclusion, one must fight and win against demons that distract from praying, cast out all the demons and sins, detect spirits of falsehood; so one must have the right way to pray as a habit and train with other coaches, in order to come to fruition.

그런데 아직도 기도를 열심히 하면 되지 무슨 훈련이 필요하냐고 하는 사람들이, 어떻게 성령과 동행하는 기도의 습관을 들여서 성령의 사람이 될 수 있을까요?

But how can you do that when you think, “Why all the fuss when you can pray diligently?”
