It's supposedly the jolly season but it can also be and extremely depressing season. As a child Christmas is so exciting because of the presents and decorations but for some people as you get older the appeal goes away. The worst part thought is when people have no family or a family that aren't there to celebrate with because they don't care about you, for these people the best thing to do is leave this world. Sad but true, my mum used to see many people who were like that because she was a nurse. It was so painful for her and the families if the attempt to leave worked especially on Christmas day.
I was fortunate enough to recieve some money ($70)on a payment card from winz (they provide the Dol/Benefit where I live) for food shopping as I have to have a specific diet and a Christmas gift card for some treats. Much appriciated.
The manager at the RedCross op shop gave up her own money for each volunteer a card, a candy cane and the $15 gift card, what a beautiful gesture.
The best thing is when people give food banks or collection places for those people who don't have anything or anyone to celebrate with. Even the smallest gesture to some one sitting on the street is a pleasing thing for that person and you. So even the smallest thing will make them smile or prevent people from leaving this world. We have 12 days to help the less fortunate people because those days are the Christmas period days. You can also help in advent and the rest of the year. I believe even if you are down giving one small thing to the poor it can give that person a smile. A smile and life continued are the best gifts. But that is not truly the best gift, the best gift would be the end of War, Famine and of course Peace on Earth.
