Midautumn Mooncake 中秋月饼

中秋就快到，商场当然不忘大肆庆祝一番 ~~卖月饼圈钱一番~~ 。

Mid-autumn is around the corner, shopping malls surely will celebrate as it is one of the best business opportunities of selling mooncakes.

在大马与新加坡，中秋节不是法定的公假，所以公司都没放假，但是商场（尤其大马的购物中心）是不会忘了布置一番，营造中秋气氛。

In Malaysia and Singapore, Mid-autumn is not a public holiday as such companies are business as usual. But shopping malls ,especially those in Malaysia, will decorate their central stage in order to create the mid-autumn atmosphere.

所以友族都知道我们华人的另一大节日即将到来-他们称之为灯笼节 Pesta Tanglung- 在一些混合居住区，如果有园游会，他们也会带孩子一起提灯笼游花园的。

Since Mid-autumn is among the biggest Chinese festivals, our other races brothers sisters know about it also (They called it Lantern Festival). In certain mixed community, if there is Mid-autumn celebration, they do join the crowd with their children playing the lantern.

现时榴莲已经可以结合许多商品，包括月饼，我在这家商场的月饼展都看到不少商家有猫山王月饼--- 自己还是比较能接受真正的榴莲，而不是榴莲月饼。

Nowaday, Durian is mixed with many products including mooncake- I saw many booths in this mall selling Musang King Mooncake- Well, I still prefer taking durian in its original way.

月饼真是越来越贵，一粒普通绿茶月饼要价马币20，看了实在流汗，买一盒不就马币80，还贵过一顿饭。而且月饼其实卡路里很高，不甚健康的。吃四分一片就等于一碗饭了。。

Mooncake price is getting pricey and pricey nowaday. A normal green tea mooncake sold at RM20, sweating when see its price tag- If to buy a box of 4 will be RM80- more expensive than a meal. And actually mooncakes are not so healthy with high calories, take a quarter of it is equivalent to a bowl of rice.

今年还有家推出椰浆饭月饼，誓要成为城中的话题（~~歹势啦，小弟不会买账的~~）

This year, there is someone launched the Nasi Lemak Mooncake,who aimed to become topic of the town (Sorry i don't even think of giving it a try)

所以虽然供应商不断送上月饼，其实今年都没吃上一口月饼，一来是吃腻了，因为每年每个供应商都送一样口味-都是莲蓉，或单黄或双黄。@auleo在想，为何这些老板们不做些特别的安排呢，如有价钱方面的考量，送豆沙月饼都好过每个同样送莲蓉口味月饼啊！

As such, even vendors did send us some mooncakes, but I did not take any of it, one reason is feel bored to keep eating the same lotus favour as almost all supplier gave the same taste mooncake. Just the difference in single york or double york. Sometime @auleo think to get red bean mooncake also more special than merely lotus favour.

在逛着商场的月饼展时，觉得传统月饼还是比较好些，这家卖潮州传统芋泥月饼还是比较合口味，只是这些月饼没放防腐剂，所以一般不耐放，一星期内就得吃完它。

While shopping at mooncake booths , I still think the traditional style mooncake still better than the rest. For example this shopping selling traditional Teochew mooncake, their yam mooncake is more suit to my taste, just the only concern is these mooncakes not adding any preservative substances, so it can't last but to finish consume within a week.

虽然也不便宜，大粒的潮州月饼售价马币15，但个人觉得饼皮有着酥脆的口感，还是较为特别一些些。

同样在新加坡大卖场也是处处可见月饼的踪迹，

Same scenario can be seen in Singapore supermarket, mooncake everywhere.

当然月饼以新币购买就显得有点贵了，所以这星期出入新加坡关卡都看到不少人手上提着月饼，从大马买月饼回新加坡送亲戚朋友，以新币兑马币的优势，还是值得劳累提着月饼盒过境的。

But to buy the mooncake in SingDollars, is a bit too expensive. That is why within these few weeks you can easily see people carrying a bag or two mooncake boxes travel across the causeway after returning from Malaysia, given the favourable exchange rate between the SingDollar and Malaysia Ringgit, worth the hassle of carrying the mooncake crossing border.
