If you have heard the news in the past couple of days, you will hear 2 pretty famous and "successful" individuals have decided to take their own lives: Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. Both of them were extremely successful, in worldly standard, and had generated a tremendous amount of wealth during their lifetime... however, both of them suffered depression in the past couple of years, which led them to make that decision of taking their lives.

On the other hand, Anthony Bourdain, was an American celebrity chef, author, travel documentarian, and television personality who starred in programs focusing on the exploration of international culture, cuisine, and the human condition. He was considered one of the most influential chefs in the world by many commentators.

This got me thinking... a lot of people nowadays dreamt of having money and fame, thinking that if and only if they achieve all that, we will have happiness. However, is that really true? They didn't suffer depression (or at least not on record) when they were "poor" and before they raised in fame; they suffered depression after they have reached the seemingly "Mountain Top" in a lot of people's eye. The true question that we need to ask ourselves today is, can money and fame bring us the true joy, happiness, and satisfaction in life?

這讓我想到......現在很多人都夢想著有錢和有名，認為只要他們得到了這些，我們就會有幸福。 但是，這是真的嗎？ 當他們「窮」並且在成名之前他們沒有遭受抑鬱症（或者至少沒有記錄） 他們在很多人的眼中已經到達了看似「山頂」的那一段時期就遭受了抑鬱症。 所以我覺得當我們還有生命的時候就要自問，其實金錢和名望真的可以為我們帶來真正的快樂，幸福和滿足感嗎？

Who and what are we chasing after today? The other gods, i.e. fame, money, etc... or the one and ONLY God in the universe? 今天我們追求什麼？ 其他的神，即名聲，金錢等......還是宇宙中唯一的上帝呢？
