田园生活是很多人心向往之的梦想。对于生活在国内的人来说或许不是易事，但在德国，相比似乎会简单很多。不过不管是难还是易，在我看来，比外在的条件更难克服的是心中的坎。
德国人的“共享花园”，品质生活可以这么简单——张冬方
自然和城市仍然是个矛盾体。人们既需要城市生活的便利和机会，又想回归自然。德国人在某种程度上实现了这种兼顾。
在德国全国各地有很多花园场地（Gartenkolonien），叫做小花园（kleingarten），或者施赫伯花园（Schrebergarten）。这种可以追溯到19世纪后期的花园场地区别于私家花园，是城市中单独辟出的一大块地，将其分割成一个个小花园，租给想拥有花园的人。这种花园大多数由德国花园友人联合会（BDG）组织管理。

社区农圃亦稱社区花园或社區園圃，為让社區居民进行园艺與農事耕作的场地。
社区农圃鼓励了城市社区的食品安全，让居民们可以种植作物供自己或捐给他人食用。农圃还可以避免人们在现代城市生活中的互相疏远，通过食物的来源来将居民们紧密联系在一起，并通过建构社会团体来打破人们的隔阂。还有研究发现，活跃的社区体验会减少犯罪与恶意破坏的行为。
