Coinbase finally announced the Next Coin to be Listed; Ethereum Classic

In a shocking announcement, Coinbase revealed the next asset to be listed on their platform, Ethereum Classic (ETC). “We plan to offer support for Ethereum Classic in all geographies where the asset is compliant with local law.”

Coinbase announces the next coin to be listed on their platform, Ethereum Classic (ETC). Trading will not begin anytime soon, unfortunately, as it will take a few months for them to properly integrate the coin into their platform. Ethereum Classic is the original Ethereum, as ETH forked off of the Ethereum chain in June 2016 after the DAO hack. Any investor that held Ethereum on GDAX at the time of the fork in 2016 will be credited ETC when the coin is listed later this year.

Coinbase Pro is the new platform to replace GDAX, in their announcement they mentioned that ETC will be listed on Coinbase Pro. Also in their announcement, they talked about their future intentions to add ERC-20 tokens as well as Bitcoin Forks (click here for the criteria for new assets to be added to their platform). After the Bitcoin Cash fiasco, Coinbase promised that all personnel who knows about the company’s plans to add ETC, will be subject to a trading blackout.
