📷 #ColorChallenge - Saturday Indigo
Today I would like to show you a wild grown blackberry. The scientific name of this fruit plant is "Rubus sectio Rubus" and they belong to the rose family (Rosaceae). There are several different species and in europe alone there are a few thousand species. A shrub is usually between 0,5 - 4 meter tall, depending on the species and they grow best in sunny to partially shaded places. Main distribution areas are europe, north africa, asia and north america. These berries are very healthy for the human body because of their contained vitamins and nutrients, the consumption of these fruits makes the immune system stronger. For further processing, there are numerous methods that can be used, it is popular to extract jam from it or to process it into a juice.

Gee… That’s not what the wild blackberries growing behind our house when I was kid looked like. Those looked like raspberries, but blue-black in color.
Your picture looks more like the wild muscadine grapes that grew along the tree-line next to my Gran’s house.

In my posts picture the blackberry is already a bit older one from the forest. Those from the garden also look like yours, even fresher. I know them but it is relatively safe no grape.
