RE: Autumn in Sydney. Australia. Orange. Colour Challenge. Ephemeral Art. Photography.

The suburb I grew up in had camellia trees everywhere. There was so many dropped flowers in the gutters around my school and grandparent's house, it was very colourful on the roads.

Great images. :)

Such wonderful memories to still have @holoz0r. When I think of my grandparent's home, I think roses and dahlias and sweetpeas mainly ~ As well as my grandfather's orchid glasshouse.

It's been a particularly beautiful camellia season. I'd usually be out photographing them ~ But this year just enjoying them, seems to be enough.

Pleased you like the images. Was fun working in this way again. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

MAGICAL MOMENTS.png

I've been wondering around with camera a lot lately. Falling back in love with shooting in manual mode. It'll be interesting to see my own view through the lens when I have some more experience under my belt again.

The magic of the camera to take one of those memories and moments in time and preserve it is so life-affirming.

I won't lie, the use of the word "ephemeral" in your post definitely attracted me to these images in a different way - the fact that through the arrangements of these objects, and the capture of that moment - we know they'll not last.

I love your photographs of the Aussie parklands. Our bush is so different. I always used to love the 'perfect' in nature, but for sometime now I've gravitated more to the unruly scraggliness of our bush. The more tangled the better.

Yes, there's something about photographing a moment that's so magical ~ That moment being gone but the recall seems to be strengthened because you can then remember all the other impressions that were coming to you while you were photographing.

I find now there are two ways of being sensitive to what's around us ~ One, without a camera and the other with a camera. Both can heighten awareness, just in different ways. I find it hard sometimes to be in the bush without my camera ~ But know it's essential for overall well-being.

I often make lots of arrangements from the one basic structure ~ And when I've exhausted all the visual possibilities, the flowers go into water and the shells and feathers back to their little houses/bowls so they can take part in another design, another time. Love working in this way. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
