Ephemera ~ Vintage 3d Greeting Cards

This was a small ephemera display at the museum of the Heritage Society of Essex and Middle River in Essex, Maryland. I visited about a year ago and saw these lovely vintage 3d cards displayed behind a glass case. The museum opened in 1975 and is preserving the history of the Essex and Middle River areas. They offer guided tours and Ghost Hunts. They had several interesting and nice displays but this was one of my favorites. It is said that the place is haunted but “I ain’t afraid of no ghosts”! Well..maybe just a little! 😉

Thanks Jo and me too!! 😊

One of my favorite authors is Nick Bantock, who wrote the Griffin & Sabine trilogy. They are picto-stories, using ephemera.

Each one of those cards you photographed looks like there's a story behind it. :-)

Thanks @bananamemos!! I will definitely check him out..thank you! :)

Fascinating collection! It is wonderful how detailed these are and what care was taken in making them! It is a pity that cards like this are not manufactured today! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you @thekittygirl!! I totally agree! I guess maybe somewhere they still make cards similar but I've never seen any. There are some pretty pop up cards but they still don't have the same detail..at least the ones I've seen.
