Gate at Fort Canning

It was a Friday night stroll after office. 1st time visiting the Park and was shocked that the place was uphill! so I got tired quickly, good thing I had a bottle of water with me. This was the 1st structure that I saw during my visit and since its getting dark, I wasn't able to go to the other sites. Hopefully, one of this coming weekend I can go back and tour the whole park.

Talking about the Fort, It was completed during the 1800's and was used for Military purposes. In 1981, it was converted to a historical Park by Late Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew. The lighting in the Fort gave the gate more character as it somewhat highlights the gates patina. It also brings out the few details of the structure especially the slits on top. The doors texture and the building mass gives it a feeling of strength.
