Breeding Colours
Many fish in the sea change or molt as they enter breeding season, one truly unique species that changes its colours and characteristics is the Scalyhead Sculpin (Artedius harringtoni)
There necks and underbellies on the males turn bright yellow and their usually bland coloured bodies turn to deep rich dark colour patterns. But probably the coolest feature of this change for these fish is their bright pink teeth. Their teeth, normally transparent white now have a beautiful pink hue.
Thanks for reading.

naver saw it from that close
Dang, those are so cool. I probably wouldn't want to get too close in person as they look like their teeth could hurt. The pictures are fun to look at though. Are these pictures from Victoria as well?
