Adventures in Pressing
Every now and then I get around to “Pressing” the stack of comics that piles up for me. For those unfamiliar...A while back, some genius figured out how to utilize a dry mount press to get out some kinks in comic books. Depending on what’s wrong with the book and how skilled the presser is, it can make a major impact on the overall value and grade of the book. In some cases it can increase the value tremendously!!!
Let’s take a look at a few I did recently....
This old classic...Werewolf by Night #32. First appearance of Moon Knight.

Now most of these copies are low grade regardless but the customer spent $15 bucks a pop to get these pressed. For the $75 dollar investment, they increased the value by a few hundred dollars. Not too shabby.
Thx for taking a look. If you think you ya e some books that could benefit for a press lmk! I’ll press for Steem!!!

Wow that's some impressive repairs @blewitt
Thx. Some have come out amazing and looks like an entirely different book. Just depends on what the flaws are.
awesome! good info. Nice comics, too
Thank a ton. None of those were mine sadly. Lol
How long would the grading process normally take for a lot that size?
To send away to get graded to CGC? It depends. I’ve sent things and had em back within a few weeks. I’ve had things take months. Really depends on how busy they are I think. Convention s play a role and also if you pay for the “fast pass” which supposedly cuts the time in half for an extra $10 fee per book on top of the normal fees.
