Detective Comics #1000 Gets a Mignight Release. Will You Be Lining Up?!?
With Detective Comics about 6 weeks away from hitting a major milestone in releasing its 1000th issue, I figured I’d take some time and show off the various covers that will be available at comic book shops across the land. But first, let me tell you a little about the issue!
Here is the solicitation straight from the horse’s mouth!!!
After 80 years, it's here-the 1,000th issue of DETECTIVE COMICS, the title that literally defines DC! This 96-page issue is stacked with an unbelievable lineup of talent that will take you on a journey through Batman's past, present and future...plus a sensational epilogue that features the first-ever DC Universe appearance of the deadly Arkham Knight! But who is under the mask? And why do they want Batman dead? The incredible future of Batman adventures begins here!
Tec #1000 is slated to release on March 27th and will carry a cover price of $9.99. As to capitalize on the big event, there will be a plethora of tasty covers to choose from by a bunch of amazing artists...just as they did with Action Comics #1000 last year.
One of the cool aspects of this is that DC has once again signed on for the ol’ Midnight Release. This just means that you can now line up late Tuesday night and as the clock turns to Midnight on Wednesday, participating shops will be opening to take your hard earned money. I actually enjoy these Midnight Releases as we always have a good “New Book Day” whenever we participate in one...the last one being for Action #1000.

Now...let’s take a look at some of the covers that will be available for this milestone of a book!!!
Jim Lee Wraparound
Steve Rude 1930’s
Bruce Tim 1940’s
Michael Cho 1950’s
Jim Steranko 1960’s
Bernie Wrightson 1970’s
Frank Miller 1980’s
Tim Sale 1990’s
Jock 2000’s
Greg Capullo
There are also a ton of other variants by various artists but those will be Retailer exclusives. So if you are interested in one of the other variants that aren’t shown here, you’ll have to contact that specific shop.
My favorite of the batch here is the Steve Rude cover. I think he did a fantastic job on it and that it really pops. I also think his style works well with the old timey look of the Caped Crusader. Which one is your favorite of the bunch?!? Let me know in the comments below!!!
Also, if anyone wants to purchase any...I ACCEPT STEEM!!!!
Thanks for checking these out with me today!!

Those are sweet!
So Detective Comics is gonna hit #1,000.
Meanwhile, Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider is done at #25. As as the latest Darth Vader, Spider-Man 2099, and a bunch of other Marvel titles... WTF, m8?
At least most of my DC titles seem to be going strong... ::knock on wood::
That is because Marvel is run by folks who think renumbering is the smart way. Not longevity...frustrating as hell...
How do you choose just one favourite from that lot? I guess that's why these artists are masters of their craft. I don't think DC would mind a great deal if fans grabbed more than just one cover as well.

oh yeah....just like they did with Action Comics #1000 last year, we had customers buying multiples...some buying all. That gets expensive as it has a $9.99 cover price each!
I prefer the cover of Bernie Wrightson 1970’. ;)

It is a nice one as well. Most are nice though. Of course a few that I really enjoy are exclusive covers for specific shops!
