Man Claims 11-Year-Old Girl Impregnated Herself with His Clothing

A man, Robert Cronin (age 33), got an 11-year-old girl pregnant. However, claimed that he never had sex with the girl and instead got pregnant by coming into contact with clothing he was wearing while masturbating. According to another source, he admitted that his defense would be hard to believe, but would be understood by the majority of the scientific community, especially those who deal with fertility treatments. It is not discussed how the girl in question came into contact with these clothes and, if she did impregnate herself with these clothes, that would need further investigation as eleven-year-old girls would not attempt self-insemination with semen-covered clothing items under normal circumstances.

I am no fertility or sexuality expert myself, but this account is possible, but highly implausible as it is inconsistent with normal childhood sexual development. While it is widely accepted that children have sexual feelings, this scenario is out of line with normal or even concerning sexual development. It is possible that the girl could have been groomed into inseminating herself, but rape is more likely than that. The girl gave birth and both her and the baby are receiving the care they need and Cronin was charged with felony predatory sexual assault of a child under 13.

Police didn't believe his story and it's easy to understand why. It would require a certain degree of intention to impregnate one's self with a semen-contaminated item, even "accidentally". Even with that said, it is highly unlikely that an eleven-year-old girl would have these intentions, even in some unusual scenarios.
