Thank you for the blessings. If I may give some advice for the beginning: People are generally more inclined to go through your blog and follow you if you comment on the content of the article. Most of the time, people who link an article of their own is not something most other people would check out.
If you write good stuff (about anythign you like), if you keep putting out consistent work and you comment on others' articles like you would if you overheard your freinds saying it - you will have many real followers in no time and grow a really strong network.
People on Steemit love comments that add an idea or give some feedback to what they wrote. It's a really good idea to comment on others work in this way, and you will never have to ask anyone to follow you - they will want to do that simply because they read your honest comment. Hope that helps a bit getting started ;)
