What do you really mean?

Challenging week!

kiwihug.jpg

Monday was an interesting day! The topic of the week, Context, seemed to throw a spanner in the works for some of the Drop in the Ocean crowd. It was a difficult one to write and talk about, which made it equally difficult to host! Regardless, our members pulled through and managed to come up with some brilliant posts, sharing what context means to them, from their own perspective.

We're going to feature the winners of the week and we'll also share the rest of the posts afterward. Keep reading on so you can find out how you can get involved next week, there's another quality topic for you to write about!

The votes have been rolling in from the attendees of the show and we have the posts ready to share with you all.

The top two voted writers will 'level up'. When a member has leveled up, they will receive a daily upvote from the BuddyUP account at 50%. The member keeps their level for 2 weeks, unless they level up again on DITO within those 2 weeks. Every time you level up, you will receive an additional 10% on your daily vote, maxing out at level 5.

The writer with the most votes will be resteemed straight after this post. This is so we can all look back at the BuddyUP blog and see the winning posts from each week.

And the winners are...

The votes have been piling in, along with the amazing comments from the participants, so it's time for us to count them up and share the top writers this week. We haven't received votes from everybody in the channel yet, but the show must go on. Make sure you drop by to the #drop-in-the-ocean-voting channel next week, if you have access, so you can leave your vote on your favorite post.

Let's not hang around any longer, this week's winners are...

@penderis

Look who's back again for the second week in a row! @penderis is on fire at the moment, putting out top quality posts each week for the DITO show. He spoke with us over in the PYPT show last Thursday, where he mentioned how he likes doing his one post per a week, and it's got me wondering... is that his secret for coming up with these winning posts?

This week @penderis created something truly magnificent in the shape of a poem. The use of words, the flow and the message all tie up quite nicely while also packing a punch. Below are the first 3 lines of the poem:

Completely containing conviction.

Craftily creating contradictions,

cunningly citing contents.

Do you want to know what's more impressive than the poem? The time that @penderis did it in. In true pen-style, he finished the post just before the show started, after just working on it for 10-15 minutes.

I'm sure you're itching to check this one out. Navigate to here, so you can give his poem some feedback!

@pretty.dorky

Our next winner this week is @pretty.dorky for her amazing short story on Context. Sometimes the complex things are better said in fewer words as it leaves the mind open for many interpretations without forming a biased view.

I think she hit the nail on the head with the topic of Context, expressively and perspectively. @pretty.dorky had stated in the show, how the post could be looked at in the future and understood differently. This matters a great deal since we are always evolving as human-beings and adapting to different scenarios in our lives.

Here is a brief segment from @penderis' comment on the post:

It is a difficult thing to create something that uses only what is required, stripping away all the embellishments and keeping a plain truth, universally relatable and as @dreemsteem says "lets the silence ring".

In the writing it is whitespace, in reading it is a pause, in thinking it is a ROAR.

The posts on the show don't just demonstrate how wise and knowledgeable the authors of the posts are, it also shows us how engaging and understanding the people leaving comments are too.

@pretty.dorky has been with BuddyUP for a few weeks now and she is always dropping by to get involved with the community where she can. She did a fantastic presentation for the first time this week on the show and she's done a brilliant job getting the win!

You'll be wanting the link to that post right about now? Here you go!

Our runners up for this week

ericaiden.jpg

Yet again, we have another set of amazing runners-up posts which need credit all on their own! As always they are challenging different perspectives and giving you a little insight into what the word Context really means. There is always a wide variety of posts from our members and it's great to hear from you all on a Monday. It's the best way to start the week!

It's wonderful to be able to feature you all at the moment because of the infant nature of the show, but in time, we will need to select 2 winners and five members to feature in this post. Just a little pre-warning to keep you all improving your posts week after week!

So who are our runners-up?

@tamala - Ooops! I Did it Again!!

@lymepoet - VERBA VOLANT, SCRIPTA MANENT!

@monchhichi23 - I Really Didn't Mean It That Way

@dreemsteem - You bought me WHAT???

How do you get involved?

milosprelevicvibrant.jpg

Have you been reading through and wondering how you can get involved with our community/show? Below I've listed the steps to take, so you can jump into the action and share your perspective and views, with all of us here at BuddyUP.

  • Head over to our BuddyUP server. You can do this by following the SafeLink post here.

  • Think about the topic for next week, which is...

EXPECTATION

  • Write a post about that topic and come by to the Drop in the Ocean show on Monday (20:00 GMT) to present it and join the conversation.

If you are new and you don't have a membership to BuddyUP, you will receive free access if you present in Drop in the Ocean.

The final and the most important piece of information is... do not publish your post until Monday. This is so we can give you all the best amount of exposure possible on your posts and also so you get paid out on the day of the show; so you can come back with an even bigger smile on your face!

We're looking forward to seeing you all next week for the fourth show, clear your schedule, Drop in the Ocean is here to stay!

We all grow together

He's an absolute animal! I couldn't believe it when he said he made it right before the show. I'm wondering if he'll make it 2 wins in a row...

Bit belated but thank you @monchhichi23 and @dreemsteem. Mmm I think this week will be the call of the @wolv maybe, but who knows it might be the perfect dreem, maybe just the right flower for bee, pretty sure that @andysantics48 will not miss the opportunity for some antics.

All in all a great topic this week looking forward to the entries .
