NEW Features For Curators / Guilds / Communities: Filter & Search VOTES By Category / Tag | Steem Ocean

in #community6 years ago (edited)

Following the recent discussion with some of the members of the #steemjet group, I decided to upgrade the way that the list of votes is displayer on the voter profiles at Steem Ocean. Now this page is much more useful for anyone wanting to track the voting activity of accounts in relation to specific tags. Let's dive in!

The list of votes on the voter profile page (appearing at the bottom of the voter page) has been improved in the following ways:

  • New title for the list to clarify it's purpose
  • Simplified column titles
  • Improved table layout for ease of reading
  • Added ability to search and filter votes by author and category.
  • Add all categories used in the comment/post being voted on.
  • Added a counter to display how many votes are being displayed in a filtered list.
  • Removed the pagination for the vote list, so that all votes are now displayed on one page simultaneously.

What does this mean?

If you want to run a curation guild or community that monitors and rewards users based on their voting behaviour - specifically for their votes on a particular tag/category, now you can do this easily (remembering that Steem Ocean only displays the last week of finalised - paid out - posting data currently).

For example, if you run a group that agrees to vote on posts with the tag #awesome - you can now visit a user's profile in Steem Ocean and scroll down to their list of votes - then type in 'awesome' into the Categories search box and you will then see only the votes they made during the 1 week indexing period for posts and comments that relate to that category. You will also see a count of the total number of votes displayed in the filtered list (if there are more than one in the list).

Also, if you want to only see votes made for a specific other account, you can do that too - just by typing the user account's name in the Author search box.

To clear your filters, just delete the search terms you have added.

Feedback?

What do you think? Do you want to see more features added to this list? Such as totals for the columns that count only the values in the filtered list?

Let me know in the comments below!

(Witnesses are the computer servers that run the Steem Blockchain.
Without witnesses there is no Steem, Steemit, DTube, Utopian or
Busy... You can really help Steem by making your 30 witness votes count!
Don't forget, there are more than the 50 witnesses you see on the witness voting page in steemit.com)

When I checked the timestamp I found out that the updates could only account for upvotes I made post form April 30 to may 6 at that seems to be the last

I found out that I have made over 50+ votes today including self upvotes but none of these records seems to reflect on your website.

Is there a way you can make users to adjust the data period to a range he/she wishes to check for including recent dates?

The data on Steem Ocean is all from 1-2 weeks ago, since it is necessary to use data for posts that have paid out. The votes that you have made today will not be visible on Steem ocean until next week.

Alright thank you, I now fully understand how your website works

Its cool! What baffles me is. You guys don't upvost low reputation. How can it get high.
Team work always cool.
As a developer. I will see to that.

I started here with reputation of 25, just like everyone else and I have built up my reputation by posting - I have never invested money into steem from outside. I upvote quality posts, period. If I see quality posts from low reputation accounts, then I will upvote them. Eventually, low reputation accounts become higher reputation accounts - it just requires more than simply making posts - there is a need to understand the system and to socially interact with other users. This is what I did and also what most other users did as far as I know.

Wao I will follow your footprint. I will make you boss. Watch out for my rich Post not just quality.

Well Done, I greatly support you since day 1, when I discovered the steemocean : )

Thankyou!

Interesting and I tested it out to see the tags, the people that I support and see how much pay out they received.

From what I am seeing this is a good auditing tool for certain accounts that have trails so see if it is circle jerking or spreading the vote.
