Friday Inspiration

So in this age of 24 hour news it's easy to become mired in a negative perspective of the world. The steady drip of negativity conditions people to subconsciously accept the unacceptable as normality, when in reality it is the polar opposite of normal. Equally, by focusing on the bad we often miss the good and there is so much of it! There are some amazing people out there, people that are putting their life and personal aspirations on the line in order to try and make the world a better place. From my own perspective and my own writing, as much as I recognise the validity of waking people up to the insanity of our current paradigm, I feel it has to be done in the right way and that there should also be a counterbalance.

The Competition

What I want to try and do is to run a weekly competition that highlights the multitude of positivity that is so often forgotten. Positivity can come in many be forms, be it the actions of individuals or projects or simply something that's fun/funny and highlights the sheer joy of being alive .. again a joy that is so often overlooked.

What I would like to do is inspire people to look for the good and to make other people aware of it. Each Friday this competition will run for 24 hrs and then I will put a close notice on it at some point on the Saturday morning. During those 24 hrs I want people to collect positive news stories/videos and details about projects that are taking place around the world. Equally everyone enjoys a good laugh and so good natured funny or uplifting stories/videos are also very welcome.

The Rules

I'm not really a big fan of rules, but seeing as it's a competition I guess we need to get a few in place so here it goes.

1)You have 48hrs to enter your submissions, after that time all submissions will be void.

2)During that time each entrant is welcome to submit one story/video in the comments section below, you are strictly limited to one submission per person..

3)After the submissions have closed I will then invite readers to upvote their favourite submissions.

4)Readers can upvote at any point until the following Wednesday morning. Again due to the time differences I will make it clear in the title of the post when it's closed.

5)Anyone submitting an entry will need to add at least a paragraph explaining their choice.

6)Anyone that enters will be required to give this post a 100% upvote and to resteem it.

The Winners

Although we may start small over time I'm hoping we can grow the idea and begin to offer some really good incentives. There will be both a 1st and a runners up prize:

1st prize will be 70% of the Steem & SBD payout of this post.

2nd prize will be 30% of the Steem & SBD of this post.

As per everyone else I will be upvoting just one submission and commenting on my reason why. I will read and watch all submissions but will only comment on the one that I upvote, this is purely down to time constraints and although readers are able to upvote one submission you're entirely free to comment and discuss others. Equally anyone that enters is entitled to one upvote but they are not able to upvote their own submission.

Any questions please don't hesiate to ask.

My Submission

Although I fully intend to, I've yet to write about my love for animals, nature and the environment. After years of decline and persecution and thanks to the tireless daily protection, work and dedication of the Diane Fossey Gorilla Fund the population of mountain Gorillas continues to increase. Of course I would like to live in a world where these magnificent animals didn't require such protection, but in the face of much danger this is amazing work and these guys deserve recognition.

According to results just released, the mountain gorilla population living in the Virunga mountains has grown— from 480 in 2010 to 604 as of June 2016! Combined with a separate mountain gorilla population living in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, this brings the number of mountain gorillas to more than 1,000 individuals.

Great idea - there are many stories that bring "good news" to people and inspire them to persevere and be part of solutions on the way to a more sane and sustainable life on Earth.

Thank you @danielhime and sorry for the delay in replying but I've not been able to get online for the last few days. There are so many positive things happening and yet all we hear are the negative stories and I feel this forces people to accept it as normality .. to shrug their shoulders and feel that the task is too great, when in reality there is so much that we can each do. Thanks again my friend!

Here is my story in short...

My feeling that reality is not what they thought us in schools. In my experience core of reality is pure and simple love. I had two occasions where I cured people just by sending them love. One was my dad, other one was hard core alcoholic. I was just sending them love, simple as that. In case of my dad, doctor said he won't eat on mouth any more because he swallowing muscle didn't work properly anymore. When doctor said that, I said in myself 'Nop!' and started to send love to that muscle. I did send few other thought to the muscle like 'You can work' and similar. After a week my dad started eat on mouth with no problems. He ate normally for 3 years until he pass away, even doctor said he will not eat on mouth anymore.

I worked in wine shop. One older dude was coming every day to the shop. He would blast himself from alcohol. Because he was coming every day, we became friend and got to know each other. He was very interested in subject like you and I (would) write about. He always wanted to talk about conspiracies with me, probably because other people were not open minded about it. He was wasted every day and felt sorry for him. One day I started to send him love every time he enter the shop. I just repeated 'I love, I love,...' and thoughts like 'You don't need this!' Of course I was saying that in myself, by sending it to him. After week of that, he suddenly stop coming. For a month no one has seen him, no one knew what happen to him. Then after month I saw him and ask him 'What's up?' and he explain me that he just decided to stop drinking a month a go, just when I was sending him thoughts.

Our power is beyond what most of people know. Power of love is what most of people don't know about. Most lost connection with their core and that is unconditional love. My stories and many other show that reality we experience is not so solid and it can be changed any time, anywhere and the most powerful thing is love.

I did resteem this, but if you wanted, you don't need to send me Sbd or Steem because I don't care about that. I resteem this because I love initiative.

BTW Post about Moon will end in few days, realized that I have to write a lot about it to be quality post.

Hey @cmoljoe Thank you for sharing your story and sorry for the delay in replying but I haven't been able to get online for the last few days. Yes it's so true, the power of intent and the transfer of that energy can lift people up in ways we may not imagine. This is where I think we should be as a society, understanding and working with energetic resonances .. changing the world and lifting each other up through goodwill, a symbiotic relationship where we can draw from our collective energy pool when we're down, and help others when we're up . I often imagine how the world would be if the TV & papers broadcasted nothing but good news? I feel the difference could be profound. Thanks again my friend and of course if you win you will get the Steem and SBD .. unless you wanted to delegate it to someone else? I look forward to sitting down and reading your post. Thanks again!

If I win, send it to @lyndsaybowes

Thank you so much Joe, much love from @hendrix22 and I <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 !!!

Hey @cmoljoe you came joint first with @johano .. I will send your Steem & SBD to @lyndsaybowes

Thanks!

Don't know did you see my message that I posted article about the Moon? You can check it out on my blog.

Well said and good idea!
Let's start with a true story about an exceptional, genuine and a compassionate person who surrendered his life to Mother Earth. Jadav Payeng single-handedly created a thriving 550 hectare forest from a 'barren' sandbar in the middle of the river Brahmaputra/India. This article is written in the other international language, so you have to use google translate or you will find out about this remarkable person on the internet yourself. Get inspired and a spade out...

Hey @johano thank you for stopping by and I apologise for the delay in getting back to you but I haven't been able to get online for the last few days. This is a really great story and a testament to the difference we can make as individuals .. imagine what the world could be like if we all put ourselves out like this .. imagine the legacy we could each leave. It's so easy to forget all the amazing people that are out there, people that are living the change they want to happen .. this is one such man and so I thank you for sharing his story!

Hi @johano for some reason it wasn't accepting my upvote yesterday but this one is my choice and that makes it joint first with @cmoljoe

I came across this really cool video of a bus driver in London, who potentially helped a biker riding an electric bike, avoid a disaster collision with a pedestrian. He signalled to the biker out of his window, making a hand gesture at about the 1.30minute mark of the youtube clip, for them to slow down. I love the good will shown by both the bus driver and biker after the realisation of what just happened, with a nice fist bump!

Hey @palikari123 firstly sorry for the delay in replying but I haven't been able to get online for the last few days (hence the lack of #musicmonday) This is great and I've spent a fair amount of time driving through London and so I know that such goodwill is a rare commodity, so this is really heartwarming to see. Excellent stuff, thank you for sharing!!

I chose this story because the author has since taken this stray to the vet and got it all taken care of. The cat is now staying in their shed, and is being cared for until he is fit for adoption.

Ha nice story @venomnymous and sorry for the delay in replying but I've been unable to get online for the last few days. Great story and a testament to the kindness of people, we hear so many stories of animal abuse and it's sad that we don't hear enough about people that go the extra mile and put themselves out! Thank you for sharing my friend!
