On 911, there actually is direct evidence. The first is that none of the "hijackers" names were on the flight manifests. That can not happen unless, either a> They were not on the flights, b> some governmental authority intervened to keep them off the manifests.
There is also direct evidence in the form of ZERO interception attempts at the Pentagon (or the Capitol, i.e. the D.C. seat of the government.) Remember, the authorities knew this was WELL AFTER that flight had turned off its transponder and was inbound to D.C., and after two hits in NYC and after everyone on the planet knew we were "under attack." And yet, we know for a fact that the Vice President ordered a stand down of interceptors even after they were specifically requested by military authorities.
There is much more direct evidence...the PNAC report you've cited being among them, but you get the point.
