The Suicide Forest (creepy)
Now this is the last place you would want to go to for a camping trip, that is, unless you're brave enough.
Aokigahara, located in Japan, is a forest close to Mount Fuji. It is referred to by many names - The Sea Of Trees, Aokigahara, and most famously, The Suicide Forest, as an extremely high amount of suicides take place within its boundaries.
Japanese mythology is prevalent here as the forest has a historical reputation as the home to "yūrei" or ghosts of the dead. In recent years, Aokigahara has become internationally known as one of the world's most popular destinations for suicide; so much so that it has become a tourist attraction.
This deeply creepy area is said to feel very heavy and eerie the moment you step into it - almost as if you can feel the weight and presence of every person who took their life at this spot. Many brave adventurers often camp in the forest overnight, in the hopes to find something creepy.
It is given the name of the Sea of Trees because the trees are so dense and close together, and with minimal light, it is easy to get lost - and so, many people questioning suicide bring coloured tape or string with them so that if they do change their mind, they can return back to the parking lot.

Despite frequent searches by security lookouts, tourists and locals as well as countless signs being put up in attempts to deter the people entering with troubled thoughts, people disregard them and keep walking
In 2010, the police recorded more than 200 people having attempted suicide in the forest and in recent years, local officials have stopped publicising the numbers in an attempt to decrease Aokigahara's association with suicide.
