New Podesta Emails Incoming? State Dept Sued for Podesta Group Records, More Podesta Staffers Quit as Company Collapses
More secretive Podesta emails may be incoming amidst a new lawsuit against the State Department, demanding they release their records about the Podesta Group inc.
Former Hillary Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta, and his brother mega-lobbyist Tony Podesta, have had their once valuable reputations smashed by a serious of scandals which escalated from last year's Podesta leaks, as well as more recently renewed scrutiny pertaining to the criminal investigation and indictment of Paul Manafort, which led to further investigation into how the Podesta Group had failed to disclose multiple deals with foreign governments including their work for the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine.
On Monday November 20th, Judicial Watch announced that it is suing the State Department after they failed to respond to a September 13 FOIA request for records related to the Podesta Group.
Judicial watch is now asking the State Department to produce the following:
"All records of communication between any official, employee, or representative of the Department of State and any principal, employee, or representative of Podesta Group, Inc.
All records produced related to any meetings or telephonic communications between any official, employee, or representative of the Department of State and any principal, employee, or representative of Podesta Group, Inc.
All records regarding the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine.
The FOIA request covers the timeframe of January 1, 2012 to the present."
Meanwhile, more Podesta group employees are jumping to new organizations as Tony Podesta's lobbying group collapses. Kimberly Fritts, a long time staffer at the investor group left just days after taking over as Podesta Group CEO, and is now starting a new firm to be named 'Cogent Strategies'.
