Yeah, the fear that's being drip fed into the ears of children is concerning .. although, I think we have a few billion years grace before the sun eats the earth. ;)
I wont live that long, perhaps only 10 more so should I be worried?
P.s. that is how most people think.
Overpopulation is what the earth ruins as well.

I tend to think we should be more aware than worried, fear plays into their hands and knowledge allows you to see this being rolled out before it is and thus have the ability to question it at the local level. In terms of the earth being destroyed, well you know towards the end of the Aztec era they were sacrificing thousands of people a year to halt the destruction of the earth, and we're still here. :)
In terms of overpopulation, official statistics show this stabilising around 2050 and with a 60% reduction in western male fertility in the last fourty years alone .. I feel underpopulation could become a future issue. Indeed, look at the work of the scientist and population bomb author Paul Ehrlich to see how frequently and categorically wrong he has been on this issue .. but it feeds the narrative so they keep giving him airtime. In reality, we have a deliberately badly managed system that works for the few, rapes the planet, and attaches the guilt upon the many. Without greed and the lust for power and control, the earth provides more than enough for us all to live in a perfect balance with it, to maintain our freedom and to maintain the health of the earth and thus its ability to sustain future generations. At the moment we're being strangled by red tape and a centralised parasitic control system whose centralised (green) energy policies are part of the problem not the solution, by decentralisation and releasing the full force of human creativity and ingenuity I believe the future could be very bright. Overpopulation might be not such a big problem if we would spread on the heart globe(annoying each other and get raped).
