Culgin's Game 20180809 - Code revealed!

in #contest6 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians! About 4 days ago, I posted the second "Culgin's Game". Once again, my dear friend @jlordc was the one who solved it first. Here is a walkthrough on how to solve the riddle and get the code.

One thing you need to know about "Culgin's Game" is that the first clue will contain all you need to get the answer. In this case, the code is written in a file and uploaded to the Oyster Storage. Oyster Storage is built on the Oyster Protocol, which is one of those crypto projects that I find really interesting. It is probably the only one which makes use of both the IOTA Tangle and Ethereum.

The first clue consists of a picture of oysters, suggesting that it is related to the Oyster Protocol. In addition, the key to download the file is hidden as the alternative text for the image of the oysters. You can easily find it by checking the page source,

The following clues were subsequently revealed in the Steem Oracle Discord server:

  • The code is written in a file. You will need a key to download the file from somewhere
  • Image for the first clue refers to a crypto project
  • Have you found the key? Here are the steps to download the file if you have found the key

With these 4 clues, the code was found and the game ended 😄. The game was posted on 9th August, which is national day of Singapore. The code was H@ppyBirthd@ySG2018! as I tried to wish Singapore a Happy Birthday!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the challenge provided by "Culgin's Game". Do stay tuned for more!

Yep! Thanks once again for this game. It was fun and a lot more challenging than the first one. :)

I initially thought it was a base64 string, then hex (reason why I was asking if there really is a "v" and "Z") then altogether gave up as all my decoders can't decode it lol

Thank God for the 4th clue honestly ha ha

Haha.. well it was a good guess. Perhaps useful for future games :)
