“Oddy!” you yell, trying to catch up to your idol.
He keeps walking at a fast pace trying to ignore you. But you catch up to him.
“Oddy! Oddy. It’s me Mendoza. We’ve been waiting to hear about our next performance date.” you say.
It’s been three weeks since you last got a playing time slot at a midday meal for the Banana Boat crew.
They arrived on the island to get the first shipment of the mind altering fruit.
“Hi Mendoza.” Oddy says frustrated with this awkward moment. “Look, I got some complaints from high ranking members. Seems your music isn’t up to snuff with keeping morale high here on the island. We’ve had some suicides even.”
“Really? Our music caused loyal followers of the Oddy way to take their own lives? That’s terrible. On behalf of Tortillas de Pelo, I extend our deepest apologies and remorse for their loss.” you say truly saddened.
“Yes, so we don’t want you guys to play anymore. We just need your help with labor to maintain the banana crop,” Oddy says like a dagger stabbing your heart.
“You don’t want us to play music anymore! We’re only here because of the music Oddy. Without the music we have nothing man. Don’t do this to us Oddy,” you say really upset with this news.
“Mendoza, please leave me at once and go back to your chores,” Oddy orders.
“Please Oddy, let us play one more gig,” you say throwing yourself to Oddy’s feet to beg.
“Guards!” Oddy yells and you are dragged away.
Oddy’s personal yacht disappears on the horizon. Some of his henchmen take you to an archipelago of islets. On the beach you find the members of Tortillas de Pelo are tied to chairs.
The four of you sit around a table with an umbrella that keeps everyone except you in the shade.
There’s a ton of beer in a cooler in the shade of a rock near you. Only you can’t drink it because you’re tied to your beach chair unable to move freely.
Because of your loyal service to Oddy, you’ve been delivered here as human sacrifice to a group of natives causing trouble with the Banana Boat shipments. You’ve accepted your fate as a high honor.
Luckily, when the natives find you, they untie you and let you drink the beer in the cooler. It turns out Tres looks like one of their high gods. They treat you to the best they have to offer.
Tortillas de Pelo agree not to eat the bananas even though the native food tastes terrible.
Tres orders an end to Banana Boat raids to help serve their idol, Oddy. Instead trade for Grog begins.
