It was Saturday morning, which meant beach traffic backed up. We get to walk past everyone. I think about childhood trips to the beach and how after getting us all piled in and driving around looking for parking it seems almost not worth the hassle. But, people love the ocean, something about it is worth all the fighting with kids, spending more time in the car in the california jams and the tight squeezes on the sand. I'd blame it on the idea of the beach, but the idea has only become exalted because the reality of it is so big. You are reminded how small you are, your problems and annoyances, by how relatively large and old the world is. But, I am glad I made the trade to live in a bit more of a dump to skip the traffic to get it ;)
