Our goal is to improve healthcare access and experience by redistributing value of personal healthcare data, accelerating the world's shift to private information decentralization - Medibloc's Whitepaper

The Problem

We all know about the current situation of Health Care across the globe, each day humankind creates better and better medicines, treatments to diseases and ways to improve and extend human life but each passing year, government inefficiencies and the bureaucratic colossus that has been built make it harder and harder to get a decent health care service almost anywhere in the world instead of making it easier and more accesible.

The colossal medical institutions of our current day, bogged down by bureaucratic processes and inefficient systems tend to not be too open to sharing medical data between institutions to help out the patients because their systems are so useless that sometimes the data is not even compatible between different hospitals.

The Solution

Medibloc plans to deploy an open source platform that is built on blockchain technology with its purpose being compiling all the medical data relevant to a patient's medical information and maintaining it updated and secure through with proven cutting edge blockchain technology.

The platform will be heavily integrated not only into the institutions, making them more efficient but also into the patient's hands via their smartphones, this will allow patients to manage all their information when they require it and not depend on institution that may even decide to hold your medical information hostage.

The Currency

As do all projects built upon blockchain technology do, Medibloc will also issue their own token, Medi Token(MED), the crypto currency will be used on their platform to encourage and build a competitive ecosystem of services where users of Medibloc are incentivized for their contributions to the platform and rewarding them and all participants with a stake, the participants include everyone from the patients to healthcare providers.

I can see this picking up if the proposed use of the currency to pay for medical and pharmaceutical expenses goes through but you will be even able to pay for insurance premiums to all institutions that associate with Medibloc too.

You can weight the possible success of a crypto currency startup with how many real world uses their proposed currency will have and Medibloc is already planning to offer a vast variety of possible use cases, so thats awesome.

Biggest Obstacle?

I believe that the biggest obstacle the Medibloc team will be facing when trying to integrate into the global healthcare industry will be the bogged down, inefficient bureaucratic systems that many countries and institutions use to hold medical records but in their whitepaper they describe quite clearly the methods they plan to use to ensure the interoperability of the information they hold by supporting multiple formats of data rather than committing the same mistakes many institutions do, thats is sticking to a single format that will probably be outdated and that generates issues when trying to transfer it from one institution to another.

A decentralized healthcare? Sounds terrific to me. I see them bureaucratic movements trying to kill it though
