RE: A Dead Poems Society Production, Round 5, Contest and Community Building
Here's my 'Dead Poem', I wrote it a few years ago when My grandpa past, his last name was Robles which means oak tree, I posted it a couple of months, I felt it time to bring it back from the ether, to share with all you beautiful people:
Under the Oak Tree
Powerful message in these lines:
Very good. Describe a family situation that has become common in these times: the meeting only in funeral cases.
Those two lines that seem to me like an image that reveals the essence of the encounter. It is so intense the friction of the exposed feelings and the emotion of the encounter with all those that cradle our soul that feels to burst, it is ecstatic and it overflows. There is so much to catch up on and so much to share that it becomes strange that no more family gatherings take place, except at the next funeral. It's ironic ... right?
As always, I love your poetry @satorid.
Alcohol can turn things on their heads ... that is for sure ... and other kinds of intoxication. Powerful write, Daniel:)
