Toys “R” Us has now gone the way of eToys and KB Toys; it has gone bankrupt. Both Toys “R” Us and KB Toys are/were owned by Bain Capital and other investors prior to closing. Investigative reporter @an0nkn0wledge has shed much light on the downfall of these companies and the predatory practices of Bain Capital in his most recent Steemit post: Retroactive Racketeering — Romney Kills Toys R Us
Bain Capital, co-founded by former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, is a company with a history of aggressive acquisitions, including those of many distressed companies. It has expanded into the global distressed debt market in recent years, elucidating the need for international trade lobbyists who appear on their venn.
Their most prominent international trade lobbyist is Hal Shapiro, with the firm Akin Gump. According to his bio on their website, “Prior to joining Akin Gump, Mr. Shapiro served as senior advisor for International Economic Affairs and senior counselor to the director of the National Economic Council at the White House, where he oversaw the development of administration, international trade and economic policy positions with respect to international agreements, international trade disputes, pending legislation, executive orders, summit meetings between the president and foreign heads of state, and meetings of international economic bodies.”
And according to Politico: “The firm's David Carlin, Christine Hesse, Zach Paulsen and Hal Shapiro are registered to monitor financial services sector legislation and issues related to foreign direct investments, according to lobbying filings.”
As a side note, Bain Capital lobbyist Sloan Rappoport was arrested in 2014 for sexual assault, a crime for which he pleaded guilty. According to reports, he asked a woman he'd met in a clothing store to get into his car, then locked the doors and drove her to a secluded location where she claimed to have been sexually assaulted. Circuit Court Judge John Tran dismissed the additional charge of abduction against Rappoport.

These scummy vulture capitalists recruited pretty heavily at the business school I attended...they definitely had the air of dead, decaying flesh about them. Glad I wised up and didn't zombie my way over to their camp.
