Saw this cute thing and thought I would love a personalized version.

So, how much fun to make one!

When a family member gave me the bottle opener, I slowly picked up more pieces.

Next step: drilled holes for the bottle opener, not all the way through. Also drilled two holes to mount to wall. Stained black cherry.

Now the picture conundrum, will the stain bleed through the photo? I posted the question to Stack Exchange :

Utilized the advice and after trimming the photo, put down a layer of varnish and put a piece of paper behind the important parts.

Five varnish layers over the picture. It’s not perfect, had to use clear nail polish to fix my mistakes. Oops, lesson learned for next time.

Attached the hardware.
Crocheted the basket, added a ‘liner’, thumbtack into place. Mounted and tested with a Victory Prima Pils! Just about done, added another layer of cardboard so the upcycle isn’t so obvious.
