Flashback Friday | Interview with @organduo (2017) | SOP Podcast 125
Back in 2017, @organduo interviewed me about my 12 organ recitals in 12 months challenge. I had forgotten that we had this very interesting discussion about my journey as an organist. I think it's about time we did another one?
At about 13:53, we even digress in conversation about revenue streams, business models and advertising. @organduo mentions that my first ever correspondence with him was back in 2015, and I suggested that he implement Google AdSense on his site (organduo.lt). When Google AdSense first came out, it was a great passive income stream to monetise a blog or niche content site. However, @organduo said the ads actually distracted his visitors and took them away from his site—so it wasn't worth it.
Little did we know, or even predict, that Steem is a much more effective way to blog—especially when you are starting from scratch. You don't need to worry about hosting, a domain name or setting up a theme!
Little did we know that Steem would also be at the price it is today...
Thanks @contrabourdon for reminding me of this conversation! It was intriguing for me to find out how you managed to play 12 recitals in 12 months. I know I have done this before so I'm fully aware of all the challenges starting from repertoire selection, practice coordination and even fatigue. It's nice to have another organist like yourself to have to talk to on Steem and I hope your journey here will be a successful one (whatever success means to you).
