The car horn blasted through the air non-stop. Ike was furious. He expected a sudden jump off the road by this careless pedestrian. He is not someone known to turn violent in the least provocation but he may just have to throw his gentle act into the basket. Who walks in the middle of the road so sluggishly, not moved by the continuous blasting of the horn? It was high time he got down and addressed the situation.

Without a second thought, he got down from his car leaving the engine running. He looked like an Englishman with his light skin complexion and dressed in a three layer suit. Having spent 35 years of his life in the UK, he saw the need to locate his root and also help develop his community. The king of Umuobi village, King Amanze the third had booked an appointment with him and he definitely is running late due to this nonetity walking like her father owns the road.

"Are you deaf?" He yelled immediately his feet touched the ground. He stomped towards her. This startled her sending the loaves of bread numbering about 5 carefully placed on a round tray on her head flying in differrnt directions with the tray but she remained stagnant. She just stood there, stunned, lost in her own oblivion.

"Are you deaf?" He shouted repeatedly. I've been blasting the horn for God knows how long. Is something wrong with you? Don't you know this is a busy road and you shouldn't be walking in the middle? His voice trailed off as he kept on screaming at her until it dawned on him. She hasn't said a single word since he's been exploding. Could she be a deaf and dumb?

He walked towards her with just a handbreath distance between them. He tried to touch her and she panicked then like a fountain, the tears gathered then exploded pouring down her cheeks. He never bargained for this. Now how would he stop her? Who is she? Why is she crying so pathetically?
