The first cryptocurrency thriller is certainly not shy about its connection to cryptocurrency, given the fact that the name of the film is, plainly, “Crypto”. The movie was shot over the summer and is currently in the post-production phase. It stars notable stars such as veteran actor Kurt Russell and Luke Hemsworth, who is most known for his role in the HBO hit series WestWorld. The movie was primarily filmed in upstate New York, and hardcore cryptocurrency enthusiasts might be disappointed to know that while the subject of the movie does revolve around crime and money laundering, it has been described a classic thriller that happens to incorporate cryptocurrency into its plot. Either way, it’s exposure for cryptocurrency fans everywhere.

I've watched the first season when it came out in 2016 but after that I kind of forgot about it.

It's always amusing to see how Hollywood chooses to portray the tech world. Hopefully they recruited some insiders to give it some semblance of authenticity! I'm sure I won't be able to stop myself from going to see it!
I wouldn't expect them to make any accurate or overly positive portrayal of crypto. It's a crime thriller. That says it all.

Interesting .... I never knew such a movie was being created. I will certainly give it a watch once its out.
I like Kurt Russell as an actor, he's very good. Luke Hemsworth is also great, I only know him from Westworld, but it will be good to see another work from him.
The simple fact of including crypto in the plot, even if it is something accessory, is great, I will have to see that film.
It's as inevitable as crime movies involving lots of hard currency. Any fungible money can be used for crime. Crypto is no different.
