The discussions and news taking place in China is the main reason why the US and other developed countries need to support the growth of the innovative technology that is the blockchain. If the US continues with the regulatory rhetoric, it may risk losing leadership in the next transformational technology the works will experience. Not only will the technology be developed elsewhere but the human capital along with the financial capital could flow elsewhere which will lead to an economic impact the US cannot withstand as they have built their capitalist economy on sustained growth on the back of huge debt loads that are truly unpayable if growth is not present.
