ETH vs. ETC

Has any one else noticed that Ethereum Classic has officially put a hard cap on the total supply of ETC, whereas Ethereum has still left that door sort of open to interpretation?

I ask because no one seems to talk about this and scarcity is one of the most critical factors taken into consideration when attributing value to digital assets.

I’m hoping to get some productive feedback to help clarify.
