Final Update Pre-Fork — How to Claim Your ANON, By Crypto King

in #crypto6 years ago

Below we are excited to discuss how to claim your ANON following the snapshot! PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU USE A METHOD YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH FROM THE LIST. There are methods that are very quick, there are methods with minimal steps, and there are methods built on convenience. The ANON team recommends using a supporting wallet (ZELTREZ) or maintaining your private keys for the fastest setting up of a master node and attaining your ANON. There were also updates to the code that will be described below along with the future viability, master node fund updates, and community governance of ANON.

Methods to Claim ANON on September 10, 2018 at 9pm EST (21:00 EST):

  • Using a supporting wallet: Zeltrez.·
  • Holding your ZCL/BTC in a supporting Exchange:Cryptopia, Tradesatoshis, and Safe.trade.
  • Holding your ZCL/BTC in a wallet where you control the private keys (Coinomi, Jaxx, etc).

Important Notes About Claiming ANON:

  • Make sure you are using TRANSPARENT addresses to claim your ANON, 2:1 will be given to the ZCL transparent addresses.
  • Make sure your ZCL/BTC are on a supporting wallet, exchange, or somewhere you hold the private keys for before the 8th as 500 confirmations takes 24 hours to send.

Supporting Wallet -  ZELTREZ

Steps:

  1. Go to: Zeltrez.io and click download.
  2. Register a username and password (any that you will remember).
  3. Login using your username and password.
  4. Click “Add Coin,” click “ZCL.”
  5. ZCL has been added to your portfolio, click “ZCL.”
  6. The ZCL window will appear “Send” or “Receive.”
  7. As you are depositing ZCL you will click “Receive.”
  8. A ZCL address will generate, copy and paste this into the wallet or exchange withdrawal system you are using.
  9. On a non-supporting exchange or wallet, login, click “send/withdrawal” and paste the “ZCL” address you generated in step 8.
  10. Click “withdraw/send” on the exchange after placing the ZCL address and your funds will arrive in your Zeltrez wallet within 24 hours (exchanges take a while to send).
  11. The ANON wallet will automatically populate with ANON after the snapshot.
  12. The only step will be selecting “Add Coin” and selecting “ANON.”

Supporting Exchanges: Cryptopia, Tradesatoshi, and Safe.Trade

Steps:

  1. Register for a new account at one of the supporting exchanges.
  2. Sign-up using a username and password (any that you will remember).
  3. Login using your username and password.
  4. Go to wallets and click “Deposit” or “Receive” next to ZCL or BTC.
  5. If you are sending/receiving ZCL make sure you click “Deposit” specifically for ZCL. If you are sending BTC make sure you click the “Deposit/Receive” button next to BTC.
    a. Sending coins to a wrong address may permanently result in loss of coins.
  6. Login to the exchange/wallet you are sending from.
  7. Click “Deposit” or “Receive” next to the proper crypto (BTC or ZCL), copy and paste the address that is generated by Cryptopia, Tradesat, or Safe.Trade.
  8. Paste the address into the exchange you are withdrawing from.
    a. For example: If you are withdrawing your ZCL from Bittrex you must be logged into Bittrex and a supporting exchange. Generate a ZCL address on the supporting exchange after doing steps 1–7 above. Once you have the ZCL address go to the Bittrex homepage and click “Wallets.” There will be a red and green small button. Click the small red button next to “ZCL” or “BTC.” Paste the address provided to you by the supporting exchange and enter your authenticator (if required).
  9. Most exchanges are sending with 500 confirmations currently, make sure you send off of a non-supporting exchange immediately to guarantee it arrives prior to the snapshot!

Attaining ANON Using Private Keys Coinomi or Jaxx

Coinomi and Jaxx are examples of downloadable wallets that allow the user to possess their private keys. Coinomi has ZCL and BTC, while Jaxx only has BTC wallets available. If you prefer to keep your ZCL/BTC in these specific locations at the time of the fork you will still be able to attain your ANON. However, the process is a bit more tedious and is not automatic like using the Zeltrez wallet or an exchange (which could take extra days).

  1. Download and unzip the ANON full node wallet: https://github.com/anonymousbitcoin/anon-full-node-wallet
  2. Start it and allow the blockchain to update.
  3. Go to wallet — Import One Private Key — — Sweep (this will take time)
  4. Enter all private keys and sweep ANON into new address.
  5. This exposes your private keys so make sure your ZCL/BTC are no longer in your ZCL/BTC wallet when you go to attain your ANON.

Updates from the Team

Every top 10 exchange was targeted for support and listing of ANON pre-fork. Formally we have still not been denied anywhere. However, it is very important individuals move their ZCL/BTC to a supporting exchange or wallet immediately to guarantee you do not miss the snapshot time as there will not be a delay. Exchanges (including the top 10) will continue to be targeted post fork and now their tech teams will be able to see our mainnet live which is a very important feature when they consider listing.

The ANON team has been discussing with Cryptopia how to insure we have their exchange support without their having to expose their private keys but also without having a closed premine. We have come to the novel resolution that Cryptopia will provide the ANON team with an estimation of their total ZCL and BTC prior to the fork (once ZCL has been transferred), and a 3rd UTXO will be inserted with BTC and ZCL into the ANON blockchain. This will allow for the creation of the estimated number of coins that Cryptopia will need to distribute to their traders. Cryptopia’s unexposed private key wallets holding ZCL will be burnt January 1, 2019, which means this method is unlikely to impact the total ANON circulating supply. Because Cryptopia will have to estimate the total ANON needed, the ANON team will inevitably have to generate more than the estimation incase more individuals than expected use Cryptopia. This will result in ANON being leftover and available for future tech support, to pay for a direct listing post fork, and to fund the Masternode fund (which already has 11,111 ZCL compliments of the ANON team). Breakdown of leftover ANON funds: 50% Masternode fund, 20% direct listing on exchanges, and 20% for future dev team support.

Masternodes will have the ability to decide what to do and how to spend the current ZCL in the MN fund and the new ANON in the MN fund. If they wish to spend it all on exchange listings so be it, that is the power of decentralization and voting.

This will position ANON’s masternodes with funding for the future while guaranteeing Cryptopia’s support for the fork. However, this leads to a final discussion about the coin burn in January. The ANON team is going to let the community and MNs vote on whether they want to ‘revive’ any percent of the burnt coins January 1, 2019. This will be one of the first proposals decided through the voting and MN system. With the majority of BTC holders likely to not collect their ANON there will be millions of ANON being burned in January. If the masternode holders decide, a portion of those millions of coins can be revived on the burn date.

This decision the team has decided would be best to leave to the future community and masternode holders of ANON. Make sure to collect your ANON and set up a masternode so you can help us decide…should a percentage of the burned coins in January be revived so the masternode fund will have more crypto for ANON’s future or should we keep supply lower?

This decision will be one of the first (if not the first) decided through our on chain voting!!
