Why trade Bitcoin when you can trade lower fee pairs?

Just curious as to why anyone would opt to trade Bitcoin instead of a lower fee trading pair like XRP/ETH?

Can someone explain to me why I should trade Bitcoin compared to a lower fee trading pair?
