Phase 2 Of Brave Browser Is Now Out!
I am just about done moving everything over to the Brave browser which will become my default browser.
I can use the same extensions as I am using on Chrome but as of late Chrome has been seriously eating up my system resources due to the sheer amount of tracking etc that goes on in some of the tabs I have open. With Brave however I have seen my CPU which use to sit at around 10-15% (granted it is a Intel i7 - 6850K 6 core 3.6 Ghz processor) is still high for just some browsing of the web. When I change everything over to Brave with the same tabs open my CPU usage actually went down to about 10% and holds there steady. Yeah 5% might not seem like a lot but it actually is over the long hours I use running my computer.

So what is Phase 2 of Brave ?
This comes from the Ads Devs of the Brave Browser, pretty much the thing we have all been waiting for is finally here!
Phase 1 provided the first public opportunity for brands, marketers, developers and communities to test brave ads and take them as a form of tipping payment on their twitch accounts, youtube accounts and websites.
Phase 2 brings in ads that you can optin to.
The systems being used so far are.
- BuySellAds
- TAP network
- Airswap
- Fluidity
- Uphold
Phase 2 rewards you for your "attention" BAT = Basic Attention Token
This update comes with 0.63.4 most of you will still be on the version before that this is still only for the test net part of it. But it does mean you can start testing it out if you want and helping push towards the full ad adoption.
The ads will look like this and the payments seem to come in monthly.
It can also be accessed via the browser address bar by typing in brave://rewards
Things are honestly looking pretty dang good for Brave and I myself am considering dumping a shit ton more money into the BAT token. (Not investment advice)

I’ve just been using brace to block ads but this gives me even more reason to use it I’ve got it on my phone too and loving life it’s like internet in 2009, no ads just content
I honestly don't mind some ads, I consider ads being necessary to cover costs and to pay people without me forking over my own money to support the content they are creating.
I absolutely love Brave and have been shifting things little by little as a few are still not ready to be used there but agree that it helps reduce usage. I also downloaded to my mobile device as well. I have not gotten the phase 2 update but am anxiously waiting for it as earning BAT, like Steem, is a game changer in my opinion.
